In Kendrapara district, two people have died after a wall collapsed due to heavy rains. In Khurda district, one person has died after drowning in the strong current of canal water.
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert expressing the forecast of heavy rain. After the red alert was issued by the Meteorological Department, Odisha’s School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das has ordered all schools in 12 districts to remain closed for two days. After the red alert was issued by the Meteorological Department, a meeting was held between the Special Relief Commissioner of the state and the Secretary of the School Mass Education Department. In this meeting, it was decided to close for two days the schools of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th class, which were issued offline in all the schools of the state.
