CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi assured that students who are planning to study abroad do not have to worry, here’s why.
Students who intend to leave for foreign shores after completing their Class 12 studies may get good news by August as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is trying to bring out the results in the next months keeping in mind the domestic as well as the global academic calendar.
CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi told India Today that the board is presently working on setting the criteria for assigning marks to students. While he did not out any dates, he suggested the process could take some time.
However, once the process of assigning marks is decided, the board aims to bring the result at a swift pace.
Tripathi said even though he did not want to put out any timelines as they may lead to anxiety among students, the aim was to complete the exercise including the results in two months.
It is on the basis of Class 12 marks that students secure admissions in higher education institutions and the board wanted to ensure that the results are out by August.
When asked about students who aim to go abroad for higher studies, Tripathi said the board was trying to work swiftly keeping also the requirement of such students. Our belief is that bringing out the results by August will also help these students.
The senior CBSE official admitted that deciding the criteria was a challenging task and the board had to come up with a solution that is fair and objective and satisfies all students.
For this the board would also consult schools as well as students, he said.
Meanwhile, an official source said that CBSE was already getting lots of calls from students about their exam results.
