Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday urged state education minister Bratya Basu to announce summer vacations in schools, colleges, and universities from May 2.

 The Chief Minister said that this step will also save children from infection of Corona-19. If there is an increase in infections in Bengal, as has happened in some other states. She said, ‘I would request Education Minister Bratya Basu to announce the date of May 2 for the beginning of summer vacations in schools, colleges, and universities. Ask private schools also to implement it.

 Banerjee, during an administrative review meeting at the state secretariat, said that her office has received information about several incidents related to people falling ill due to heat.
