For this a draft has to be prepared. The department has sought information from both the directors on three points. It has been asked to state how many higher and higher secondary schools are teaching Sanskrit. Sanctioned posts of Sanskrit teachers and how many teachers are working. What is the number of students registered in Sanskrit subject in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th.
Information on these three points has been asked to be given at the earliest. Sources said that after receiving the letter from the School Education Department, the Office of the Director of Education, Jammu has asked all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) to send the information within three days. Sources said that after getting information from both the divisions, the department will start the process of implementing Sanskrit up to class VIII.
