New Delhi. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday announced that no school in Delhi can deny admission to a child on the basis of the declaration of the name of one of the parents. Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia’s statement assumes significance from the point of view of children who have lost one or both of the parents in the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Delhi government on Monday issued an order directing the school management not to deny admission to any child who is providing information of only one of his parents. This order has been issued in the name of Udit Prakash Rai, Director, Education Department. A copy of this order has been tweeted by Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia.
