Mumbai School Reopen: Schools in Mumbai have got approval to reopen from 04 October 2021. In the first phase of school reopening from Monday, classes will start for classes 8 to 12. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, BMC has issued orders that schools will be opened in a phased manner following the COVID-19 safety protocols. In the first phase, schools for senior classes i.e. classes 8 to 12 will be opened while the decision on junior classes will be taken later.

Schools in Mumbai have been closed since the start of the corona pandemic in March 2020. In its recent order to reopen schools, BMC has said that it is important to ensure that schools are prepared for reopening from October 1 to 5. It is necessary to ensure that students and staff are completely protected from the spread of infection. Since the schools are being opened after a long time, the cleaning and sanitization of the campus will be completed in time.

BMC has clarified that strict corona guidelines will remain in force inside schools. Teaching and non-teaching staff will come to school only as per the need and only teaching work can be done in the school. All other activities will remain prohibited for now. In addition, all classes will be de-sterilized with sodium hypochlorite solution. Schools under BMC will have to keep in touch with the nearest municipal or private health center to deal with any emergency.

The rules of masks and social distancing will be strictly followed inside the school, for which a copy of the SOP has been sent to all the schools. Apart from these guidelines, schools have also been instructed to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of infection.
