It is not mandatory for the students to attend the offline classes. Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has assured that the state government will maintain a coordination between the education, health department and the local administration while opening the schools.

Schools have reopened in Maharashtra for classes 5 to 12 from today, October 4. Schools in rural areas are open for classes 5 to 12, while schools in urban areas have been opened for classes 8 to 12.

The Education Minister held a review meeting on 03 October with the state education department on the reopening of schools in Maharashtra. The state government has asked the Maharashtra State Council of Education Research and Training to come up with a plan to restart schools. Meanwhile, State Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant confirmed that colleges in the state will continue to be online from 1 November, 2021.
