SOL has named this as Social Responsibility Internship Scheme. The information about this scheme will be conveyed to the students soon so that they can participate.

The Director of the Campus of Open Learning, Prof. Payal Mago said that under the Free and Compulsory Education Act (RTE) in schools, children who have dropped out or never went to school get admission to classes according to their age. Under RTE, the child must pass up to the eighth standard. They are sent to the next classes in government schools. For example, if someone is admitted according to his age in the second class, then at the end of the session he is sent to the third class.

Interested students must register:
Prof. Payal Mago said that the students in the second and third year of any course at the undergraduate level or the students of post-graduate level can participate. It will not be made compulsory. Students who are willing to teach somewhere, can go to the school and teach. For this, he will have to register.

SOL to tie up with NGOs:
Prof. Payal Mago said that many children come to the second and third without reaching the first grade. This creates a lot of learning gaps in the children. To fill this gap, this scheme has been prepared. The students of SOL will go to the schools and take separate classes for such children. He told us that to implement this scheme, in the first phase, we are going to sign MOU with the NGO Drop in the Ocean working in the field of education. It is this institution that will get permission to send the children to the schools.

With the help of SOL and NGOs, allotment of a school near the student’s home will be done. Students will also be given a certificate of social responsibility for being part of the internship.
